It feels like June-uary out there…
It was a bit warm earlier this week when myself, some friends, my husband and my dog June Bug (shown here in the backpack with Bonnie Zellers) went for a tour on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe.
It was my first tour this season so just getting my heart rate up was rewarding enough. However it wasn’t until we embarked on the decent above Granite Lake on Maggies Peak that we noticed that the temperature creeped up about 8 degrees since we began our climb making the ski down…well, suck.
Tahoe/Truckee still has low snowpack for this time of year but it is still early. Just when you get your mountain bike out and plan a trip to Auburn, it will snow 5 feet in one storm, and you will forget that it ever felt like June.
